Outdoor Education

Nature plays an important role in a child’s health and development

All Our Kin’s Outdoor Education Program is a two-year opportunity designed to enhance family child care programs’ outdoor curriculum, promote healthy eating, and encourage outdoor play and physical activity Participating educators work with All Our Kin staff to build raised vegetable garden beds in their own backyards, and receive regular visits from an educational coach who helps them learn how to garden and use the outdoors as an educational tool.

As a result, children gain valuable outdoor learning experiences, and fresh, organic fruits and vegetables are introduced into their diets.
