Licensing Support

The Toolkit Lciensing program, sustained in partnership with the Connecticut Children's Museum, is dedicated to assisting child care providers in obtaining state licensing in family child care. 

Our experienced Toolkit Coordinators will provide will offer unlicensed family, friend and neighbor providers with the essential resources and support they need to achieve compliance with health and safety regulations, fulfill state licensing requirements and become part of a professional community of child care providers. 

Requirements 

To become a participant in the Toolkit program, prospective educators are required to attend one of our monthly orientation sessions.

What to Expect
  • Direct support from an experienced Coordinator in applying for state licensure, including:

    - Complimentary background check
    - Vouchers for first aid training
    - Health and safety supplies

  • Start-up materials to assist in establishing a licensed program, including:

    - Educational toys
    - High-quality children’s books
