| The All Our Kin Family Child Care Network Through the Family Child Care Network, All Our Kin works with providers to raise the quality of care in their licensed, home-based child care programs. Family child care providers play a crucial role, particularly in low-income communities, as the first teachers for many infants and toddlers. However, the majority of family child care programs are under-resourced and under-equipped, diminishing the quality of care children receive. Working in their homes, caring for children ten to twelve hours a day, providers are isolated from other educators and from avenues for continued learning. All Our Kin brings resources directly into providers' homes, offering educational mentorship, professional development, and advocacy and leadership opportunities. Consultants regularly visit programs, bringing toys and materials, professional articles, and activity and curriculum ideas. Consultants also model lessons, and offer suggestions to enhance educational quality and children's learning. Program quality rises, and children's educational experiences and outcomes improve.
